Bursaries

Bursaries for Learners Aged 14-16 Years

Preston’s College provide 14 to 16 Alternative Provision in Construction works in partnership with the Eric Wright Learning Foundation.  They provide quality construction provision for learners who have an interest in trades such as bricklaying, joinery, plumbing, electrical installation, plastering, decorating and professional construction, delivered in the state of the art construction department at Preston’s College Fulwood campus.

The qualifications delivered are the level 1 / 2 GCSE in construction for those learners who are able to attain the level 2 and the level 1 construction for learners who would benefit from a level 1 programme.  Both will lead to positive progression onto either an apprenticeship or onto other construction programmes.

Bursary places are made available on an annual basis, with schools able to access a maximum of six places per year group.  Schools are encouraged to apply for bursary allocations within specific timescales to avoid disappointment, with priority given to schools that enter into our shared partnering agreement.

During 2018, the Eric Wright Learning Foundation supported 71 bursary places.
